I'm new here and hope to find help. Last month my hubby had a stroke. He was admitted to the hospital for 5 days and had tons of testing. we were told he had had at least 4 Tia's. This 1 was a little stronger .At first there was short term memory loss and swaying to the leftwhen he walked which all is better now. We were told that he is also diabetic, has 40% blockage on right side of neck and 70% on the left. He also has 2 blood clots on the brain. They don't want to do surgery yet because of the dangers and we understand that but we know nothing about strokes, and he has ignored many warning signs. Everyone tells us that a worse stoke will follow at any time. Can anyone tell me anything about this? I am so confused.
Thank You All For Any Help!

Sorry to hear about your husband. Not everyone has a bigger stroke following a series of TIAs but that depends on what caused them and if your husband SERIOUSLY works at reducing all of his risk factors.
Here's a good source for learning about risk factors: http://www.strokeassociation.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3030166
