Howdy all,
Was wondering if any of you have gone thru this experience with meds
for
lowering cholseterol.

on 9/13/02
cholesterol 263
fasting trig 246
HDL Chol 43
LDL 171
VLDL 49
Chol/HDL Chol 6.1

NOw with a little more exercise it came down to on 12/18/02

cholesterol 241
fasting trig 130
HDL Chol 41
LDL 174
VLDL 26
Chol/HDL Chol 5.9

The doctor said it was still too high and started me on 20 mg
Lovastatin. My
new results are:

cholesterol 234
fasting trig 202
HDL Chol 37
LDL 157
VLDL 40
Chol/HDL Chol 6.3

My question is: Is this medication working? The note on the last lab
result
says that it is okay and to continue with the same dosage. The doctor also said to recheck in a year. Does this sound okay or are my levels still too high? THat is what I think.

Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know if I should talk with the doctor and try to switch Meds?
