Many babies have reflux as an infant if that is what you are asking. It is treatable and babies normally grow out of it.

Your grandson could be coughing if he has post nasal drip or allergies. I guess it could still be reflux since adults can have reflux as well.

DS had reflux as a baby and was zantac for about the first year. The coughing could be a separate issue altogether -- asthma, allergies...

My daughter had refulx as a baby, on meds until 2 1/2. I took her off meds but she is now 7 and her pedi gi dr has put her back on. They think she never outgrew it. So its possible that the coughing is from reflux.

as a side note, my bosses daughter (13 yrs old) coughed all the time, she took her in and she was very lactose inolerant and reflux also.

your daughter could try benydryl at night, my dr put my son on it for post nasal drip and it worked. He said it dries the nasal passages out and if it works, its post nasal, if he still coughes, they would go to the next step. He stopped so thats what it was.

Hope that helps
Amy
