I took Baycol(lipobay) 2 years ago for 3 months total. I had elevated CPK readings. 3 times the allowable limit. Have had thalium stress test, ECG, and angiogram all showing no problem. Have had chest pains for two years now. Have taken Lipitor (10 mg) for the last year. Started to show liver damage in blood test. CPK level still elevated. Tried Niacin (3000mg) and no lipitor for 1 month. CPK went higher and cholesterol levels shot up again. My doctor is at a loss to explain this. Any thoughts on what might be happening? How long can one lose muscle tissue before there are serious consequences? I am tired and weak all the time. I have trouble walking up one flight of stairs without having to stop for a couple of minutes. My legs feel like they've run a marathon

You probably need to think about getting off statins totally for awhile , also start taking some Co Q10 supplements . While elevated levels are a minor risk factor , you have to weigh your quality of life if these drugs are severely limiting things you can do , that is a decision only you can make . Good luck...
