Hello all
I will be 32 ( this weekend ) and just found out that I my cholesterol is 251. My ab is 161. I dont know what that means. My dr. said I am young so she wants me to try and control this by diet. My father died in 1990 at the age of 44 of a heart attack. I love red meat and fats, I dont know what to do. Do you have any suggestions on foods I should be eating.
Thank you

have you tried the American Heart Association cook books? I've got three of them. One is called Meals In Minutes Some recipes that don't call for a lot of ingredients or a lot of cooking time.

I had my cholesterol tested I can't tell you what they mean but I can tell you the targets for them.
total cholesterol <200
hdl (good choleserol) > 45 for men >55 for women
ldl (bad cholesterol) <130
tryglycrides <200

next time you see your doctor ask him what the counts mean
