I am on day 5 of bleeding between my periods. It started up one week after my normal period ended. I went to my Dr. on day 2 and he didn't act concerned at all and didn't seem to think an ultrasound was necessary just yet, although he said I could if I wanted. He put me on Yaz to try to even out my hormones but I know you can bleed on Yaz for a few months too. I'm nervous because I have never bled between cycles until now, it's not as heavy as a normal one, but I have my normal painful cramps. I asked him all the causes and he said, fibroids, cysts, polyps, stress, hormones, basically a wide range so he said we just have to wait and see. My question is, is it safe to just wait and see or should I be getting a second opinion? I'm 37 so he said this could also be the start of perimenopause. :(
