My husband called the 800# again b/c we have gotten conflicting answers and it is literally killing us. Now they say that they have a decision and we should be receiving it in the mail in 5 days or so. What does that mean? they said they can't give decisions over the phone. It was in quality review for a couple weeks but no one will tell us a thing. 1st they said it was in the payment center, then they said no it isn't back from review now they have a decision (all in the same day). Is this good or bad? I have been throwing up for the past hour. Why don't they just rip my heart out. We need the money desperatley but I don't even care about that I just want a YES or NO!

From what I've found in my research in the last 2 days (just found out yesterday that my own case was sent to "review" last week) I think it's okay for you to stop feeling pukey over this. ;)
It's highly more likely that any case sent to review is an approval rather than a denial.
The info I just found out is that at least 50% of all approvals must be sent to review. That's in contrast to a mere 70 denials per branch per quarter that are randomly selected for Quality Review. The other good news is that less than 2% of approvals are reversed during the review.
So, given the odds, I think it's okay to look for that letter with a healthy dose of optimism. Just keep a tiny little portion of your sanity ready for a just-in-case contingency plan, but it really is an outside chance that you're looking at a denial.

Don't even bother with the 800# if you have a local office you can walk into they WILL tell you what the decision was. For me I had to do that.

When mine was sent to quality review they basically said it would verify the amount. I assumed it was because of my age and a good work history so they wanted to make sure i wasnt paid too much. They told me I was approved at local Determination office but review would verify. It didnt take as long as they said it would. My local office and DDS office told me the decision over phone and i called every few days to see if it was back from review.
