View Full Version : High blood pressure?

Does anyone have high blood pressure caused by high cholesterol? My blood pressure spiked up to 180/120 last week and after a series of tests and blood work, my doctor says my total cholesterol is up to 210 ( the bad level is like 180). Six months ago my cholesterol was total 160 and the Dr. was very pleased with my health. I have never had any problems with blood pressure or cholesterol. But, since my father had 2 heart attacks in his lifetime my Dr. put me on Hazaar for B.P. and Lescol XL for cholesterol. I am 46yrs old and 6'3" 220 pounds. I am only slightly over weight, even the Dr. said weight was not the problem. I don't like to take any medications, especially for the rest of my life. Does anyone have any experience with this?? Thanks.

I've got high blood pressure and high cholesterol but I was never told my high cholesterol cause my blood pressure problems. I've got some American Heart Association cook books that I'm going to start using to see if I can lower my cholesterol and blood pressure.
