I'm on Cyclosporine (a transplant drug) which has raise my cholesterol a lot. It's 258 even with a regiment of fish oil, flaxseed oil, garlic, evening primrose oil, etc.
I can't use statins because they are contraindicated with the autoimmune neuromuscular disease I have.
A friend of mine who is a nurse suggested I look into ZETIA.
Anybody ever heard of it???
Thanks,
Koulafeena

Zetia works by helping to prevent the absorption of cholesterol in the small intestine. It can be used alone, or in conjunction with another cholesterol lowering drug. Since it is a relatively new drug, I have not personally heard much feedback on it yet, so I can't say one way or another how well it works.
