This morning I checked our account and our 1st SSDI payment was finally there (we were approved on April 1st,2008). We are still awaiting the back-pay from them,and I will let everyone know when it comes. I am glad that the end of this journey is almost over. I hope this gives others encouragement and hope-I am so happy right now that we can begin to live again, and that soon we can pay off everyone we owe-thanks for all of the posts from everyone else, (that really helped me get through this),and the thoughts,prayers,consideration,and kindness alot of people on here have shown. Got our forst payment today as well, still waiting in backpay. But should be soon. The couldnt send till we got our first payment. It should be soon now.

My husband is getting ssdi for metal impairments. We filed in January approved in May and first ckeck July 3rd.

My husband has congestive heart failure and has had 4 heart attacks (he is only 48). We applied in January of 2006, we approved on April 1st 2008, and got our 1st SSDI check on July 3rd 2008 -Rachel

Congratulations! One major stress hopefully eliminated! Keeping my fingers crossed that you receive your back pay shortly!
