My daughter had poison ivy about a week or so ago, caught it from the daycare where there is poison ivy outside. Now, my son is covered and it seems to be spreading very fast. I gave him a Benadryl, and he is in the tub now. I'm going to rub some creme on it when he gets out. Anything else I can do by chance?

I too have it and thought I had taken all the precautions "NOT" to get it...uhh.. I think I got it though picking up my clothes that apparently had it on it. It is between my fingers on my hands. I haven't been able to find a product called Tecnu, however used that two years ago when i got it my sister in law suggested it and it certainly worked miracles as I had it from head to toe. After not finding it today the pharmacist suggested Baju (I believe I am spelling it correctly. I have used it twice today. It is grainy and you wash with it for two minutes. It is suppose to pull the oil out from the P.I. and stop the itching because of the removal. It hasn't been itching since using it and when it does start to itch afer several hours I repeat it. On the internet there are a few suggestions I just read....soaking in baking soda, technu is the biggie, calamine ( tried that before and it really didn't work, another person said to use Gold Bond Powder, someone else swears by Fels-Naptha (actually a laundry bar soap) and the last person suggested running cool water over first changing to as hot as you can stand. At the end of the article a doctor wrote about poison ivy and actually suggested Technu first and then the water suggestion secondary.
Hope this helps.....I am about to try he water suggestion now.
Best of luck Annie;)
