Hi all,
After years of trying everything..and I mean everything... my doc has given up and prescribed Tricor for me to help with the high trig levels I have. I started on them last Sat but by Tuesday of this week i had to stop. I started getting pains right over the heart area. I felt perfect before so I figured it must be the Tricor as it started right away. I stopped but as of today (Thursday) I still have the pain. I think it might just be muscle pain but just wish it wasnt in that location. I know this a very hard to answer but if anyone has stopped with Tricor...how long should the side effects take to go away?
I'm very disappointed as I've read Tricor has had the lesser of the side effect issues. But...thats my luck.
Right now I'd be happy getting rid of this issue.
THanks!

I can not advise regarding Tricor but I found that omitting starches and sweets from my diet lowered the triglycrides. Give it a try. I eat lean meat, green, yellow, and red veggies.

Hi Maria,
Oh I've gone as far we can with diet. You name it we've tried it over the years...even a 90% vegi diet. I race mountain bikes and run on a treadmill every other night for 50 minutes. Diet and exercise doesnt help everyone...and I'm one.. :( My chol is actually not real bad 202...but my tri's are very high and even stopping almost all carbs/sugars didnt nothing at all over the past 2 years.
On the Tricor note a EKG today showed nothing wrong so they dont think the med is causing the muscle pain or affecting the heart. Once the pain is gone I'll start again on it.
