View Full Version : Has anyone tried or heard of this?

I just read something that I pulled up on a different quest for info regarding WATER, plain and simple.

This theory is based on the cell will try to survive by surrounding itself in LDL to trap the water inside of it because the body is not taking in enough water the liver will prouce whatever it takes to keep water in the cell --LDL. So, has anyone else heard of this theory?

It does make sense we are what 60-70% water and how can we expect our body to function properly by dehydrating it.

Also high levels of homocystine leads to artersclerosis? Is this the same lines of cortisol? all stress related fight/flight?

Does omega oil really work?

Have any amino acids been shown to work on heart disease and or cholesterol?

I am familiar with a rather interesting book called "Your Body's Many Cries For Water", written by Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, an Iranian physician. The theory goes that as we age, we tend to lose more and more of our sense of thirst, which leads to chronic dehydration. The belief is that chronic dehydration is the root cause of many of our degenerative diseases, such as hypertension, arthritis, and even high cholesterol levels. He appears to make some very valid points as he explains how chronic dehydration may in fact lead to many of these conditions. He at least convinced me to increase the amount of water I drink on a daily basis. The general rule of thumb is to divide your weight in half, and that leaves you with the minimum ounces of water you should drink each day. So, for example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink at least ten 8 ounce glasses of water per day.

Hi, just a brief comment on the water. I am a big water drinker, always have been however, I have high LDL. So, in my case the water theory does not 'pan-out'. Rebeckah
