I have recently been diagnosed wih GH.
I am 27 years old and devestated.. I believe my ex-husband gave me the virus. But can't be 100% sure, of course!

I went to the doctor or my annual visit and asked her to do an STD test.
The test came back posistive for HSV2.
I have never had any signs or symptoms, and have been told that the only way to be properly diagnosed is to have a swab test done.. Is this true????
B/c i would think a blood test is pretty legit.
I was told that my anti-body count was very high and i probably had the virus for a few years.. But like i said, i have never had an outbreak or any signs for that matter.

I am still trying to accept the fact that i have this.. And all though I have done my research and I know that it really isn't THAT bad.. Other people precieve this virus so differently.

I have read about a possible cure in the future... Does anyone have any info about this?

And does anyone have any advice about the blood test vs. swab test???

You should get a copy of your blood test for your records. You can post the numbers here. But if it IS showing positive, it just means that you have it. It takes anywhere from 3 - 4 months (generally) for antibodies to show up in your blood. They said your numbers 'were high' which I think they are saying that this is not a new infection for your. Lots have it for years and years without any obvious outbreaks.
