I think I have genital herpes although this is unconfirmed as by the time i got an appointment with the doctor the sores were healing and they were unable to test.Altough the doctor said it sounded as thouh it was from the symptoms. I believe that I have caught this from my partner who suffers from cold sores. Im so anxious about it I cant stop thinking about it. I told my partner and initially he was supportive but my anxieties over it are causing us problems. Im scared to let him near me in case I infect him, he has no signs of infection on the genitals. And the other day he had the tingling signs of a cold sore and i freaked out in case I get reinfected on other parts of my body which didnt go down well. I dont even know if this is possible as there is so much conflicting advice! Can you get herpes anywhere on your body or just mouth, genitals fingers eyes? if it gets into your body through your genitals can it travel else where and cause coldsores on the lips etc? If he has a cold sore on his lips can he kiss me elsewhere apart from the lips and to give oral sex? Also if he already has the virus in his body can I pass it back to him on his genitals. One herpes web site said no then i phoned a sexual health advice line and they said yes, im so confused, please help.
