It may be necessary for you to come down off of valium very slowly, although 10mg isnt a huge dosage to get off.
Do you find now after 2 years your body has become used to the valium, i found it did although i didnt take it regularly.
Your Doc knows best whether you can cope with nothing or whether to change you to another med, be guided by him/her. Good luck.

I would ask your doctor how you can wean off of it slowly. I had an awful withdrawal problem only taking a little valium each night to get to sleep. My doctor said what I was going through was unrelated to coming off of valium (which I stopped abruptly) but he was totally incorrect. I would strongly urge you not to get off all at once but to go through the tapering process. Two doctors I went to said my problems were not withdrawal related, but I can tell you it definitely was. And, it was not fun! So a word to the wise........!!!!!!

Benzo withdrawal is no joke and should be approached very seriously. Its real and can be very life changing. To many in the profession havent a clue. You should taper approximately 10% of your total dose a month to avoid the risk of siezure and severe <WITHDRAWAL> symptoms.
