hi,
i was recently diagnosed with herpes (genital).
i had some tears near my perineum area, etc. Anyways, I am still wanting to get a blood test done to see the proof and I also want to do an HIV test. Very scared at the moment of course hoping I don't have it.:(

I was wondering: the entrance of my vagina is red. And it seems like I have a mild yeast infection.

To women with herpeS:
is this normal? do you experience the red entrance regularly?

I know for myself (I've been diagnosed for less than six months and have had two outbreaks) right before I have an outbreak I get what seems like a yeast infection... then within a day or two its herpes. I'm not sure what the correlation are between the two but it sure seems like something. So yes, when I have an outbreak the entrance in red.
Good luck with your HIV test!

Mine was a little different...I did test positive for a yeast and bladder infection while at my gyno's office (I had never had either one so I made an emergency appt b/c I had no idea what was going on) then 2 days later I had an ob of sores down below...this was after having sex with my bf about 10 days prior to the ob...no warning. My immune system was down b/c I was recovering from bronchitis. Tough few weeks for me! But yes, that area was red, swollen and had a couple of sores. Good luck with your HIV test Hungy! I'm praying it's all good so you will have some relief! When you have an outbreak see if you can get your gyno to swab test as well as do bloodwork.

It took me a few months before I realized that I had herpes. I kept trying over the counter yeast infection medication, they didn't work. I went to the Urgent Care and was told that I had a bacterial infection but the medicine didn't really fix the problem. Finally, after 5 months, another Urgent Care Dx saw some blisters and said it was probably Herpes the whole time. Valtrex finally helped the symptoms.

Crossing my fingers for you on your HIV test!
