Hi - I've been reading through the posts on this board and learning a lot. A little background about myself: I am 32. In December of 2007, I had a bad flu that landed me in the ER twice.
Following the flu, I started getting tingling in my hands/toes. The doctors found a herniated cervical disk. I started physical therapy and the tingling went away, but was replaced with pain. My pain is mostly in my upper arms, elbows, and wrists. At times I have a tight neck.
I had an EMG and nerve conduction done. It showed mild carpal tunnel in both hands, three pinched nerves, and unresponsive radial nerves (along with abnormal median and ulnar nerves).
I just wondered if anyone else experienced a sudden onset of carpal tunnel in both hands? Also, did you have any other problems (i.e. elbows) that accompanied it? I do type an hour or so a day, and have found that I sleep with my wrists slightly bent. But I'm not sure what else could have caused this. Just trying to figure out if it's the disk or true carpal tunnel.
