Does anyone have painful skin? It feels like my skin on my knee has a burning sensation when I touch it or rub it against something. Now it started hurting when I bend my knee. Has anyone experienced this or know what it might be:)

I have the same problem but it's on my inner thighs. Sometimes it stings like sunburn then the next second it feels normal. The skin never turns color or has bumps or anything. I am currently seeing a dermatologist from a prominent medical university and I am somewhat of a science experiment. My first appointment was with one doctor and by the time I left he had four doctors. The following appointment was similar except he also had students.
My problem started after a long eight months of chronic stress and anxiety. Then the anxiety started to get better and this problem started. They feel that I might be causing the problem. The less I think about it the better it seems to feel.
When you rub your knee does it feel like splinters?

I have been experiencing this same problem on my knee for several months now. It feels lika a sunburn but the skin looks absolutely normal except for a slight hint of discoloration in that area if you look closely. It's just a spot about the size of a 50 cent piece on my left knee just above the kneecap. I'd really like to know what it is and if it's something I should be worried about. Most of the time it feels normal, and then out of the blue it will sting for a few seconds.
