Are there any that preferrably curb your appetite? I was on effexor for 6 months. I gained 30lbs!! Of course if I have to get back on it again, I will try to watch my food portions, but it would be nice if I could find something else that will help curb my appetite altogether as well as decrease my anxiety. Can anyone name a list of some? Thanks in advance.

Everyone is different but like you I gained 40 lbs taking paxil, my doctor recently put me on Prozac said supposedly this one doesnt make you gain weight, so far so good, havent had a huge appetite like I did with Paxil. hope this helps

Wellbutrin usually decreases your appetite...but it's dangerous to take if you have a history of an eating disorder <BECAUSE> anorexia and bulimia increase your risk of seizures. (plus it makes it WAY too easy to restrict! LOL)

Prozac is good if do have a history of eating disorders...it's commonly prescribed to patients with bulimia <BECAUSE> it reduces the urge to binge and the obsessive thoughts.

Good luck!
