Hello, my name is Brandon. I'm new by the way, :). And.. to make this post short and simple, I have been getting soo tired lately.. and just, weak, like muscles aching, extreme fatigue during the day. Especially wanting to take naps all the time. And not wanting to get up in the morning.

Now I DID go to my doctor to see him about all this, and he said I might be Anemic. So, infact he did send me for blood tests, and it turns out I am a little Anemic he says. He prescriped me 325 MG Ferrous, which I assume is a prescription Iron supplements. And I have been taking them for about a month now. And.. I have not seen any change in my energy level whatsover. Maybe a tad bit, but not enough at all. Not nearly.

So, what I'm asking is; what do I do now? How do I go about asking the doctor for something else we can do and telling him it's not cutting it? Or what else could I do? Thanks!

How is your diet? Do you eat many processed foods? Fast food? Soda? Sugar? All these things play the main role in how you feel physically.
You just may need something as simple as a body cleansing (enema) and a new food diet consisting of grains, fruits, vegetables, etc...

It actually takes a good 2-3 months of taking iron everyday for your levels to increase. Keep taking it...you may feel better soon. And I would suggest with a change in diet as someone suggested above ^^

I"m going to jump on the band wagon and endorse a well balanced diet, also. Electrolyte deficiencies can cause fatigue...that's why it's important to eat lots of fruits and veggies so you are taking in at least the minimum daily requirements for potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

And by the way, your body won't process/use the iron tablets very well unless you are getting an adequate amount of vitamin c...so eat some oranges, drink some juice, and have a couple of glasses of milk (skim) while you're at it.

Hi Brandon.

How man hours a night do you sleep?

If you sleep more then 8 hours, change and just get 8. I know the more I sleep, the more tired I feel in the day. For me 7 hrs is best. Different for different folks.

Oh and don't take the iron at the same time as taking a multi b/c...I forget which vit/mineral it is...I'm thinking calcium maybe...but it reduces the absorbtion of iron.

Hi!

I am new, too!:) I also feel dizzy, foggy in the head and very short temper. I know I don't get enough sleep with 5 little ones at home. But I feel better when I exercise. I do eat a very balanced and healthy diet. My head hurts and I feel overall like I will pass out. My vision seems to get worse. What can that be????

I feel that good exercise helps boost my system up. As well as good dietary supplemental drinks.

DId your doctor take blood and check for mono? Just a question as that awful feeling can also be mono. Did he check your spleen to see if it was enlarged?

My sister had similar health issue like yours (she lives in Europe). Her doctor took some tests and informed her that her body is carrying a virus that doesn't let it generate blood as normal. He put her under a 6 months medication (I believe she has to take some pills daily).

I strongly believe that you should get a second opinion from another doctor or insist in having a thorough test with your current doctor.
