i'm new to bc and am planning on starting yaz tomorrow (friday) morning. i was reading the information that comes with it and saw that you can either start on sunday or the first day of your period, but i noticed that to ensure i never have my period on fri, sat, or sun, i should start taking the pink pills on a friday. would it hurt me to start on a friday? i just started my period last saturday and it ended today, so i was really hoping to start yaz tomorrow. any advice yaz users could offer is very appreciated. thanks in advance!

I've used Yaz for a year now and I've never understood why you have to wait for the first day of a period or the Sunday after. I am a Sunday starter and I do usually end up getting my period on a Friday but it isn't horrible. It's always gone before the next weekend starts.

I would recommend calling your doctor instead of just experimenting. The call couldn't hurt and he/she may be able to give you more information as to what the best start date is and why.

If you start the pack on a Friday...that means you will still be bleeding on Friday...and probably Saturday and Sunday as well...at least for me...on the pills I've taken...my period doesn't start until I'm close to starting the next pack and then lasts into the begining of the next pack. I would start it on like...Tuesday...or something...if you want to have Friday, Sat and Sun free of periods. But that doesn't promise anything b/c a lot of women have break through bleeding on Yaz. (I've been bleeding nearly non stop for almost 3 months now on Yaz.)
