I just read that people with hypothyroidism should not take Pravachol.

I know that I've tried Lipitor, Pravachol and Niaspan and can't tolerate any of them. I finally have a doctor who is getting my hypothyroid under control, and in 3 months on Armour thyroid alone my total cholesterol and LDL have dropped 37 points. I would imagine that the statins stay in your system longer with a depressed metabolism and are therefore more toxic. I'm hoping that once my thyroid levels are what they should be my cholesterol numbers will also come down to normal levels. I eat properly, and cholesterol is not a hereditary problem in my family.
