Hi,
After having trouble with this for a while, I've decided to look for some advice.
For a while now, after waking up and taking a shower, I'll have small red splotches all over my torso and upper body (sometimes including my arms). The splotches are sometimes accompanied by tiny bumps that I assume are bites.
I've thought that this might be bed bugs, so I threw away my old pillows, bought new ones, vacuumed the mattress, etc. However, that didn't seem to get rid of the problem. What's aggravated me the most is that I'm on vacation at the moment, and I still step out of the shower with these splotches. They only itch for about ten to fifteen minutes after I get out of the shower, and I don't see them later in the day.
If anyone can offer any advice, it would be most appreciated! Thank you so much for your time!

Hi,
I get the same thing & beleave it's a heat rash.
Toxins are in the water & come out of the shower head, you could be allergic.
I heard a filter for the showerhead works, you may be allergic.
Hope this helps!

Could you be allergic to your bath soap or to whatever you use to wash your towels and washcloths? You might try switching to fragrance-free laundry detergent and to Dove or Ivory bath soap. And remember not to get the water too hot when you're in the shower--it can really irritate and dry your skin.

Hello,
If they are bed bug bites, just throughing out the pillow and vac the mattress is not going to do it, it's a nightmare I'm going through bed bugs right now from a vacation I took them home. I do think if you are only getting bites when you get out of the shower there are water mites that do bite... They live mostly in those body sponges... It best to always use a clean wash cloth and towel, before you go homw I would research bed bugs long and hard so you don't bring them home. I am losing my mind over these critters ...I had remodled my home 1 year ago and thought IO was in my dream home until now... I can't stand being here !!! Good Luck

This is very likely hives and an allergic reaction to your soap, shampoo, or laundry detergent. The moist heat of the shower brings out the hives. Switch to all scent free and dye free products including laundry detergent and softener. Make sure all are marked as hypoallergenic. About the only shampoo available that way is baby shampoo, be sure to use the name brand, most of the store brands aren't hypoallergenic. I have yet to find a conditioner that is hypoallergenic.
