Hi All,

I am in the appeals council stage.
What I need advice on is this....How do I get a lawyer to file the paper with SSA that he no longer represents me?
I have told him to do so and that I don't want his representation any longer.
I have the email where he confirms what I want, yet when I call SSA they still have him as my council so I would bet anything that he hasn't submitted the paperwork.

Any Ideas???

If you have a new lawyer then both lawyers would fill out a "Substitution of Attorney" form. If you do not have a new lawyer and you are representing yourself then you can do the same, your old lawyer will fill it and out and the area where it asks who is substituting this you would put your name, Pro Se as the new attorney.

Thank you for answering and for the information. I will do that. I'm assuming I can get that form on the SSA website. If not I'll find it, now that I know what I'm looking for.

Many Thanks
Robin
