Beth,
Ask the psychiatrist if he has ever heard of psychogenic nonepileptic seizures before.
If not, bring some literature with you on your next visit.
If he cannot adequately treat you, he should say so and refer you to a colleague.
Take care.

Hi Everyone on this thread,
Beth11, IN time the pain does lessen and healing can take place - it may not seem like it will ever happen but it does - you just have to hang in there and get the help you need - dont be afraid to ask someone for help - talk to your dr - a psychologist, friends whoever you feel safe with - i know things improved for me once i could sleep more - sleep helps with the healing i think - i wish i could make it all go away for you - for all of us - but i cant and we all have to make our own journey - but dont be afraid or ashamed to ask for help - at one time or another we all need it and it's a hard hurdle to get over - but it helps - take care and I hope you feel calmer soon MBC
Hi Phoenix good to see you back i hope you are well = take care MBC
Hi Ylanda - are you seeing a psychologist ? it could be a panic attack if you feel really scared at the time - I used to have that happen to me and my psych told me that it was part of the fight or flight mechanism in our bodies - adrenaline rushes into our system so that if there is danger we can either fight or run away - when something bad has happened to us the fight or flight system can be triggered when there is no actual danger - don't know if this is what you are experiencing - just a thought - take care MBC
