Which is more important to have high good Cholestral and a low ratio of total to good or low total number

I feel that ratios are the better risk indicators, especially the TC/HDL and Triglyceride/HDL ratios. The lower these ratios are, the better off you are. However, keep in mind the fact that there is no such thing as being "risk free". In reality, all any of us can do is just hope and pray for the best.
