hi everyone :)
I just got a Mirena IUD/IUC on july 9th and I was wondering how many strings does it have? does it have 1 or 2 strings? because I checked the strings like a day or 2 after I got it and I felt only 1 string and I was wondering if this is normal? I read online that as long as you can feel a string or both then its in place

I just got my Mirena on the 3rd. I have checked for the strings twice now and can feel both... but he told me sometimes the strings can kind of stick together, or they can separate and one can be back behind your cervix and then you might only be able to feel one.

I think mine (Nova T) had 2 strings, but sometimes I could feel them, sometimes I couldn't, sometimes it was 1. I wouldn't get too concerned unless you can't feel a string for a week. There really is no place for the IUD to go other than where it was placed.
