My uncle had a massive left hemisphere stroke a week ago and the prognosis is hemiplegic (paralysis down right side) inability to speak or understand the spoken word. He is on a ventilator and is overbreathing the ventilator about 8 - 10 breaths. He had a living will and never wanted life support but it was put on BEFORE the family arrived. We plan to turn the ventilator off HOWEVER they have told us it could hours to weeks before he passes. Any responses would be appreciated.
