View Full Version : I just had one question.

I'm sorry if it's a stupid question but sometimes I tend to overreact to things and I just wanted to be sure about this:

Whenever I get hungry I get dizzy and sometimes I get so hungry so suddenly that I get sick and can't even keep anything down no matter what I try. It's not pregnancy because the last time I had any sex was about a year ago. I heard that a person could go without food for a week or two but I don't see how anyone could stand getting sick and dizzy like that. I'm very skinny too. It seems the more I eat the more weight I lose. I just wanted to know if this was normal and I'm worrying for nothing or is it something? My family has a lot of people with diabetes so I wasn't sure if it was symptoms of this.

It could be low blood sugar. How long do you normally go between eating?

Make sure you drink enough as well. When I'm dehydrated, I tend to get very nauseous.

I know people who have gone up to 40 days without food. (but they were about dead at the end of the 40 days and forced to go onto a feeding tube and all.) I have gone a week myself...but ended up passing out going down the stairs. LOL

Would be best to go to your doctor and get checked out.

You are not stupid or overreacting!:) You have every right to be concerned about your health. *hugs*

The symptoms you describe could be due to hypoglycemia. Some health experts believe that hypoglycemia is a precursor to Type 2 diabetes... but not always. Your weight loss could also point to diabetes.

You asked if your symptoms seem "normal", and they don't appear to be so to me. Please see a doctor asap for a complete work-up!

Good luck!

Hello F,

I would go get a full physical(bloodwork and all).

Explain to the physician what your symptoms are.

Your "pre-diagnosis" may not be too far off but don't place too much weight on that until you receive your results.

Respectfully,

Phoenix

Well I have to wait until I get a full time job (I'm trying hard) to go see a doctor so that I'll have some medical insurance first.

I eat two meals a day, breakfast and dinner, and snack in between, but because of my night job I either eat dinner really early or really late. It's only about five hours at the most between breakfast and dinner. I drink plenty of fluids but because I don't have a full time job yet I don't usually have anything to do so I have pretty laid back days.

Thanks so far for the help. ^_^
