Morrisc7244;

One of the best companies that is easily available here in the U.S. is NATURE'S PLUS extended release RYR. It comes in 600 mg. tabs. I just finished up an experiment myself last month and took this for 8 weeks and then got my blood work re-tested. It was the best results I have had in years! Keep in mind you should start out, as I did, taking only one 600 mg. tablet per day, usually with your dinner meal or just before bed.
No need to take two per day as the bottle might state. Safety first.

Morrisc7244,

I almost forgot to tell you that you also need to include a daily CoQ10 supplement (50 mg min. to 100 mg/day) along with the RYR.
When taking a statin, even though it may be a natural one, the statin robs the heart muscle of this naturally produced vitamin-like substance. Hence it is wise to compliment the RYR with this supplement to prevent any potential muscle issues such as rhabdomyolosis.

My RYR capsule come in 300mg. I took 2 X 300mg last time and brought my numbers nicely to 185.25. Now, I'm down to taking only 300mg per day before bed. I'm ok with my numbers being on the high side of acceptable (200 is ok by me). I exercised daily, at a normal weight, don't smoke.

I did take the Red Yeast Rice with dinner. I remember a while back I got off of them because of heartburn also, but being that I really MUST lower my cholesterol I'll have to deal with the "burn" because I don't want to go on statins. I have had elevated cholesterol for many years, ignoring it and now I am getting real nervous about my high number which is 275.
