Hi, i really need some advice, or to see if anyone else has these strange sensations.
Two weeks ago, i developed a strange ache behind my left ear, about 2" above in side of my head.
This was worse when i got up, or was walking around.
It was not what i would call a headache, just an annoying pain.
Then last week, i started gtting what i would call a burning, prickling feeling, right on the top of my head (crown) which feels warm to touch, and ls like my hair is hurting in that area?
This sensation then spreads either back down to top of my neck, or sometimes forwards towards my forehead. It can also spread down both sides of my head to ear level
I get this sensation mostly at night when i am trying to sleep, which then makes my head ache.
I sometimes get it during the day, but it is not constant.
I saw my doctor, last thursday, the 10th July, and he said it sounded like some sort of infection, ear, or sinus, and prescribed me a 5 day course of antibiotics.
Today is sunday, and i feel no better, other than the ache above my ear is not as bad. I also get like a fluttering but in diffrent areas of head at different times.
Other than a post nasal drip. i have no runny nose, or mucus.
I am dreading going to bed, even though i am exhausted, as lying on any part of my head, for any length of time, seems to trigger it, and my head feels to go numb.
Has anyone else had these symptoms, and does it sound like sinus problems please? I will be seeing my doctor again on wednesday, but just needed some reassurance. Please help. xx
P. S i also suffer from anxiety, and i don't think that is helping.

I am not sure this is the same thing that is happening to you, so I will just tell you what happens to me and you can decide if it is similar.

I have osteoarthritis in my neck and shoulders. Sometimes a nerve will get pinched when the inflammation is bad, causing pain to go up the side of my face, sometimes into my ear(s), across my eyebrows and even into my cheek bone and upper jaw(s).

Admittedly in the past, when I have had a sinus infection, the symptoms were more pronounced and have even had these symptoms when an upper molar (have had five removed now over time) was abscessed.

On my bad days, I will have a disorienting sensation when laying down to go to sleep but it only lasts a minute or so and then goes away.

Just to let you know, I have situational anxiety and often think that I make my pinched nerves worse by tensing my neck and shoulders.

You might want to check with a dentist and a chiropractor to see if they can come up with something else.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for replying lindaru:)
I do tend to tense up quite a lot, so perhaps that could be part of the problem too, I will see what doctor says on wednesday, but hoping by some miracle, that it will have gotten better by then.
I will look into a chiropractor, though. I also have a lot of pressures with work, and life in general, at the moment too, so it feels like everything is crashing down on me. I am also worried it could be something more serious, but then think wll surely it would not be all over my head?
Thanks for the advice. Will post soon.
