Do some stains have less side efects than others. i've been told that Zocor and Pravochol are more tolerated by the body than Lipitor. Anyone have any experience with this?

I don't know about everybody, but I have been taking Pravachol 40mg for over a month and have had no side-effects.

My father first started on Pravachol, and didn't appear to have any problems with it. His blood tests, while he was taking it, were very good. But, for some strange reason, the doctor switched him over to Zocor, and I still don't understand why. Well, that's when all the trouble seemed to start. His foot now bothers him so much that he can't even go for a walk. He used to love to go for walks, and I can see now that he is very miserable because of this. It really bothers me a lot, because the two of us used to enjoy going for walks together. But now, sadly, he seems to have aged twenty years practically overnight. All I can say is that I'll never, EVER take any of this garbage. I love him, and it hurts me so much to see him this way.

Hi.
I know there are some who cannot take Zocor, but I have been on it now, 20mgs pr day for 6 months now. I've felt no side effects. My hair is thinning somewhat, and I don't know if statins do that or not. Thank goodness but no aches or pains.

I have arthritis in my knees, but had aching in them before I started on the Zocor. Good luck.

I have been on Lipitor 40mg for about 3 years, and wife was switched from baycol to Lipitor 20mg about 2 years ago. Neither of us have noticed any side effects from this drug. Now Toprol XL is a different story!!

I was on Baycol for about two years before it was pulled from the market. I did fantastic on it with no problems.
Mt doctor then put me on Zocor, I started getting achy and weak feelings in my arms. And it didn't do much for my numbers. I stopped taking the Zocor myself.
My doctor now has me on Niacin.

What kind of problems are you having with the Toprol XL, I have just started taking it and I feel kind of drowsy all the time. Mostly in the afternoons though.
