I have to watch my cholesterol (I have moderately high total cholesterol)... Well, my fav. ice cream place that dh and I eat at on the weekends, is loaded with saturated fat and cholesterol http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif I found these nutritional facts on the website:
Total Fat- 28 grams
Saturated Fat- 18 grams
Cholesterol- 115 grams
All I can is :nono:
So, I went there over the weekend and got the non fat chocolate yogurt and I must say... its actually quite tasty http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wow.gif Of course, I still like my super-premium ice cream :p

Hello, Yep ice-cream and cheese can be a killer. I have found that I had to try various brands of non-fat/fat free ice-cream in various flavors before I found the ones I like. I still don't like the fat-free cheese, so I just eat single servings of lite/low-fat cheese instead. I have also found that I really don't like the vanila non-fat/fat-free ice-creams. I also find that I don't like the taste of the Healthy Choice products either. I do like the store brand cherry and blackberry fat-free ice-cream. I also like the Non-fat Southern Lemon Pie Turkey Hill frozen yogurt. I also found out that canned Hersey's syrup is fat free!

Check out the frozen yogurt section. You still have to read the labels but alot of them are a lot lower in fat. I was in rehab and had to keep a record of my diet for a week. One evening I had a Diet Big Red float. Big Red is a cream soda drink here in Indiana. I used frozen yogurt. When I showed the rehab director my diet for the week she kind of laughed but when she figured the fat and calories she agreed that it was a fairly healthy snack to have. Much better than brownies or a candy bar. You just have to be creative.
