I am so stressed out because my 6 month old daughter has reflux and refuses to eat. I can only feed her when she is asleep. It's very stressful seeing her not wanting to eat; yet, she is hungry. She is switching from Zantac to Prevacid and the Prevacid doesn't seem to be helping yet. Anyone have any experiences with this?

My DD had been on Zantac for several months and I havent noticed any improvement in her spitting up. She eats great though and her temperament is wonderful...The only formula that has calmed her spitting up is Similac Sensitive RS.
I was hoping she would grow out of the spitting up phase, so I could put her on regular formula, bu such luck yet.

My son is on Zantac and eats Nutramigen. The Zantac helps, but it took a month to see improvement. We also used Thick It for 8 months to thicken his formula. He tolerates non-thickened formula now that he's over a year but is still on Nutramigen, and will reamain on it for a few more months, at least. The meds sometimes just need time to help, but if she's not eating keep pushing for them to do more. If the spit up is real bad, they may need to give her Reglan to speed up how quickly her stomach empties.

the GI called me back and switched him to Previcid 15mg....I started him on it yesterday after 1 day of no meds....I do think its alot of meds at one shot for a little guy....so well see how it goes.....he still spits up all the time.
