I'm sorry I haven't posted sooner but my computer was in and out of the shop and we finally had to just get a new one.
I went in at 8pm that evening and I had the sweetest tech! I thought that I would just lounge around for a little while then she would hook up a couple of wires and I would go to bed, WRONG!:D As soon as I got there I was told to put on my pj's and she came in and had me sign a few things on this form and then had me sit in this straight back chair. She spent about 45 minutes hooking me up. She ran wires up my shirt to connect to my chest, up my pants across my chest with a band all these wires on my head and by the time she finished I felt like I should be plugged in or something!:D She hung the main box around my neck so I could go to the bathroom then I got into bed and she called over the speaker things to run tests on to make sure she could hear everything I did. She also put one of those little things on my finger. I told her I might need a sleeping pill cause I knew I wouldn't be able to go to sleep since I knew I was supposed to. She said the doc had ordered one but they wanted me to try to go to sleep on my own. Well, by 10:30 she came in there and gave me one and I still couldn't go to sleep so by about 12 she gave me another one, I got up a total of seven times that night to go to the bathroom! I finally went to sleep at 3:30! I was so afraid they wouldn't be able to get a good reading! She said they got enough and that I had to come back the next night as planned. I was so sleepy all day and made myself stay awake so I could sleep that night. After I checked in at 8 and got hooked up she tried on several masks and found the one that worked for me and after I got in bed it took me about 10 minutes and I was sound asleep. She came in a few times to tell me to turn back onto my back and then I was right back to sleep. I woke up at 6 and she unhooked me and I went home. And for the first time in soooo long I didn't have a headache! I also felt so clear headed and alert and just felt better than usual. I go back this Wed to get my mask and let me tell you, I can't wait! I've suffered from headaches all my life and I'm praying that this mask will help and I can get off the pills.
Anyway I just wanted to share with you all how it all went and how much better I know I am going to feel once I get my mask!
Take care eveyone,
Annie

Oh Annie,
I am so very happy for you!! Isn't it amazing how literally overnight your health can change? And without meds?
Appreciated hearing about your sleep study experience....I had my study done several years ago but the scenario hasn't changed much from what I can tell.
Again, thanks for sharing! And keep us posted as things can change over time...me, it's been 3 years and I"m still learning new stuff.

Hi Bethsheba!
I went for my follow up visit yesterday and they gave me my mask and went over everything . Yesterday I couldn't find any distilled water so I didn't sleep in it last night. They said to use distilled water in the humidifier. I found some today at Walgreens. I can't wait to sleep in it tonight! Will keep you informed!:)

Annie,
Do keep us informed...although some of us are "old timers", stuff changes constantly and hopefully, we can keep each other current with info and with experience.
But again, I'm happy to know that things are working out for you.
Bethsheba
PS I often buy the distilled water at my grocery store...it's usually in the aisle with the bottled water.
