Do these #'s look good? They look scary to me http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

Cholesterol should be below 200, but the HDL favorable range for a female is above 65. You are at 69 which is great. You risk factor is 3.48 which is below the standard risk of 3.27 for women. That is not bad.

I wanted to add that my total cholesterol is 174 but my HDL being low at 47 makes me at higher risk than you at 3.7. That is still in a good range but I just wanted you to see that having cholesterol below 2 hundred does not necessarily keep you at less risk. My trigs are 99 and my LDL is 107. Here again my LDL is lower and withing desirable range.

Thank you cutup http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Any ideas on how to lower LDL? I have been eating boneless skinless chicken, non fat chocolate yogurt, beans, salads (no cheese and non fat dressing), vegetables, prunes, apples, non fat pretzels, hand-ful of nuts.

I do eat bad on the weekends though... but 5 out of 7 days I eat very good http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

You might try adding fish a couple of times a week. some of the ones high in Omega 3 fatty acids are salmon and mackerel. Be sure to bake broil or grill it. Add some whole grains as well.

Yes albacore tuna is. Also sardines, and herring. The sardines didn't help me out much though. My dad liked them and got me and my brothers eating them when we were kids. Mom made us eat them outside because they stink so bad. I haven't eaten them in years.
