Hi all :) I'm new to this board and am looking for some answers. Have done research online and not found anything...so I thought this might be a good place to come.
I'm a 21 yr old female. I was diagnosed with Sinus Tacycardia at age 16 and have been on medication up untill about 6 months ago. I just recently went back on medication for it. I was trying at the time to get off all my meds, and succeeded and my heart was doing fine.
But around 2 months ago, I noticed my heart beating fast again and could feel it, even if I was sitting down and inactive. I was constantly tired and went to see my doctor a couple weeks ago. She did an EKG which showed just Sinus Tacycardia...heart rate was around 140. I also had a 24 hr Holter Monitor put on and just received the results from it a couple days ago. It has puzzled me and wondered if anyone could answer my question before I see if I actually do need a cardiologist.
My Holter Moniter results said I have a maximum heart rate of 174 which was sinus tacycardia and a minimum of 51 which was bradycardia. It also showed for abnormality that I had several instances of dropped beats which appear to be winkiboc (never heard of such a word) Then it went on to be more specific and said I had intervals of "second degree AV block winkiboc."
I have no clue what second degree AV block winkiboc is and cannot find anything online about it. I am currently taking Inderal (which is a beta blocker) for my heart, but was wondering if this is serious and what exactly is it? SHould I be checking up with a cardiologist or is this no big deal?
Thanks so much for your help!
