My mom has peritoneal cancer originating from the uterine cancer she had 2 years ago which she was given a total hysto but was not followed up with chemo...so question no1 is should it have been followed up whith chemo even though the doctors said their was a 1% chance of it returning.(would you make a complaint).

They have said they can treat it with chemo by trying to shrink it for as long as possible but can't operate because it has spread to abdominal muscles and the op woild be to disfiguring and cancer cells would most likely remain.
so question 2 is does anybody have any suggestions of other possible treatments any places i could contact things she could try (alternative therapies etc...anything.

thanks in advance:angel:

Hi

I am sorry to hear of your Mom's problems.

The decision to do or not do chemo is sometimes a tough call. I am sure the doctors thought that a total hysterectomy removed the cancer. Truthfully, even with chemo, there is still always a chance of cancer returning.

My suggestion would be to get in touch with a teaching hospital that is connected with a university. My own cancer was a rare one that attacked my thigh. At home, doctors were not too optomistic.... I went to a teaching hospital and they had so much newer techniques and treatment... my leg was saved nd I am cancer-free eleven years later.

All best thoughts
