Can someone please tell me if the Province of Ontario would use a 3rd generation ELISA test? I know on my hiv test result sheet it said that it tested for HIV 1 and 2. Dunno if that helps.

I'm assuming your result was negative. If so, you are negative. Canada has reliable testing procedures. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thank you for the words of encouragement but your response did not address my question.

I don't really think anyone here can know what test you had. To find out exactly which test was performed or is likely to be perfomed in Ontario, you can call the testing facility. They can give you the type and even the brand name of test they use. It's likely it was a 3rd generation as they're more reliable at detecting HIV-2. Good luck and hope you find your answer. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
