I've been injected drugs with shared needles for a year. But I totally stopped that 2 years ago. I did not have any signs looks like HIV expect minor illness.
But I'm very very worry now because US immigration requires me to take HIV test to get the immigrant visa to join my families in United States.
I'm very nervous and have no clue. Please give me some advice.

Having HIV/AIDs is possible for anyone sharing needles in drug use, or who have had sex...protection or not. Did you know any of the people well that you shared needles with?
Try not to worry about it, just take the test, and if it's negative that's wonderful. If it is positive, everything will still be O.K.
Don't worry yourself to death, though because you can make yourself have symptoms then you will really be freaking yourself out. I hope this helps and good luck!

I also would like to add that you should talk to a lawyer who is specialized on inmigration issues, becasue I know for sure that in case that you are positive or reactive on the "HIV" test there are legal ways of still getting your visa. And I also know that one of the ways is geting a health insurence.
