Hi there, from what i've read on lupus it is very common to have a positive ANA, and then if re tested be negative. The reason for this is when they did your lab work and tested positive you most likely were having a flare up, once you go into remission and get re tested it will be negative. I recommend Dr. Daniel Wallace book "The Lupus Book", I'm reading it right now, it will answer most of your questions or doubts. Also are you seeing a rheumatologist? If so have they also done other test, if not, then they should, from my experience once you get a positive ANA they should send you for more lab work to confirm lupus or other auto immune diseases. I myself am new to all this, I started having symptoms about 3 months ago, had a positive ANA, inconclusive anti-ds-dna, and just Tuesday saw a rheumy for the first time, he reordered another ANA, anti-ds-dna, and other lab work. I undertand how u feel, very fustrated when u dont feel fine and u cant get answers. Take and keep us updated!
