The doctor tested a blood donor (my friend Amit, who went with his friend, and offered blood as his friend needed)to be HIV+ and leaked it out, relating to the ostracisim of the donor. The doctor's lawyer claim that he (my friend Amit, the donor) was not a patient. Was there a breach of medical ethics, as code medical ethics shall apply only apply in case of a doctor-patient relationship. I just want to know that in this case was the donor a patient of the doctor or not. I require the information from a legal point of view. Pls suggest some relevent sites or links. Pls reply specifically to "patient definition" in this case. The other grounds like violation of right to privacy etc. are not required.
