Hi, my uncle just died last week, while recovering from surgery after a brain aneurysm. I guess his AIDS just had him so far gone he couldn't recover. I don't know. Not looking for sympathy, just wanted to get it out.

Miss ya, Uncle Wayne.

Regardless of what you're looking for, I'm sorry... Keep in mind that not a single person, you, me, will survive life -- we'll all be in the ground, some sooner than others.. all deaths seem like a shock.. how long had he been hiv positive? Take care.

so sorry to hear this. How long was he HIV+? His passing could have not even been because of his being HIV+, as we can all (and will all) die eventually. However, today people are still dying from HIV but not from the infections that doctors and the CDC considered AIDS related back in the 80's and early 90's. The new drugs have pretty much ended those kinds of infections. Today folks who die usually die from other things. Many from Heart failure, Kidney failure and Liver failure. These deaths are quite quick and usually come very unexpected, unlike the old AIDS illnesses seen years ago.
My thoughts are with you and your family!

Thanks, everyone. Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. Uncle Wayne had been positive for...oh, at least 7 years. I'm not really sure. I first found out about it when I got in a fight with my father (Wayne's own brother) and he told me that. As a way of "proving" to me that being gay was wrong. Needless to say, I do not speak to him. Wayne was an awesome person and should have had all the best. Too bad he never got it.

I'm sure he'll find peace in the next life. My prayers are with you, your uncle and for your father in hopes he'll come around in time.
