My 2 year old daughter will hardly eat anything and what she does it is only a couple of little bites and shes done but most of the time she will put the food in her mouth chew it up and spit it out and or throw it.. Does anyone else know why she is doing this and why I cant get her to eat Im worried shes not getting all the nutrition that she needs. Shes also chunky to I dont understand how she keeps the weight on when she doesnt eat.

I think we both gave birth around the same time, so my daughter is also two. We have been going through this for a long, long time. Probably at least since she was 18 months old, is not sooner. There have been some days when Alexa refused to eat anything. To supplement her diet when she doesn't eat, I give her Naked or Odwalla Fruit juice, which is pure fruit blended into a smoothie drink. I also give her vitamins and omegas on a daily basis as well. It is a phase, although Alexa's has lasted for a long time so far. She will like a food today and won't touch it tomorrow. Make sure what she does eat counts, for example, a few things that Alexa will always have is organic Horizon yogurt tubes which comes in strawberry, blueberry, and orange creme. She will also drink organic milk, water and organic apple juice. We also buy the organic fruit leathers from Trader Joes and it is a good source of fruit for her. She also always loves the Clif Bars for Kids, they are organic and I find them at heath food stores or Trader Joes. Most of the time she will eat corn or pizza, it is very hit and miss. She will not starve herself, so try anf let it go, don't show her any frustration, just keep offering.

As far as weight, I guess she is chunky either from her build, genetics, quality of food......some children are chunky for a variety of reasons.
