Please don't give up. It can usually take anywhere from 30 to 120 days at the decision writer's.
You are almost there so try to hang in a little longer.
You have gone through the roughest part.
Mine was at the decision writers for almost 120 days.
I got the first letter saying I was approved around the middle of June and my benefits start in August and I have no idea when the back pay will come but it's in the system now and might come soon.
It takes alot of time I know, but it will come.

JanieLou said the most important thing to remember:

You've been through the roughest part, so just hang on a little while longer.

Just keep reaching to any one you need to, right now.

If you have statements about rent or utilities being overdue you can take them to the social security office and I think they will expedite getting you some money. Look up "ssa dire need" for how to do it. I've only heard of this, never done it, so don't know how it works. Keep hanging on, this is a tough process to go through.

I understand your frustration and anger. Many of us have had to deal with this. Some states seem to be quicker than others, but you should hear soon since it has been so long now.

I think calling the SS office or going in and taking your bills is a good idea. You would probably have to wait a while if you go in (you know, take a number and wait) but it might be worth your time. Let them know that you need your utilities and groceries.

Venting here is good. We understand. SS deals with so many people that it won't do any good to call them and vent. If you have to deal with them be sad and teary, not angry.

We are all here to support you and listen. I think you have a really good shot at being approved. Hang in there just a little longer. You're almost home free.
