Hello everyone, my name is simon and I am writing a book on a new way for parents to fight childhood obesity.

I would like to ask a few questions if that is alright.

What would be your needs in this book?

What are your fears on this subject?

What other comments would you like to make?

Kind Regards,

Simon

I would read it for the knowledge, but I believe the best way to combat this obesity epidemic is to stop eating processed food and eat organic foods instead. I try to buy mostly organic foods when I shop and the reason is to keep the chemicals, hormones and other syntheic toxins out of our bodies for optimal health. I have a two year old who has never been sick in her life, no colds, runny noses, nothing. The chemicals that are loaded into our food gather in our tissues and alter how the body runs, like the hypothalamus which effects our metabolsim. The food is the cause of the obesity and many people cannot see any reason buying organic, so they continue to eat genetically modified foods, foods loaded with syntheic growth hormones, pesticides, herbicides and othe poision and dyes and they are ignorant to the fact that our bodies soak up and take in everything we slather on our skin and ingest. It isn't such a mystery that the news makes childhood obesity out to be, it is just our foods manufacturers and peoples lack of knowledge about food and what they contain.

The other side of childhood obesity is the lack of exercise. Parents are too busy working to parent children the way it used to be and tv's, gaming systems, computers, etc are pushed in front of children from a very young age. Moderation is the key, but these entertainment devices have replaced exercise and outdoor play in many cases. My toddler happens to be very active on her own, but although she is two, I play teeball with her, be bought a parachute that we take to the park and run with, we ride bikes, she watched my husband and I work out and be active. My husband takes karate and she will start next year when she is three. My point is leading by example is also key. She has seen us active from day one and taling her along with, she won't know any different other than exercise is fun and it is just what we do.

What would be your needs in this book?

Information on what makes children obese.

What are your fears on this subject?

Am I making my child obese.

What other comments would you like to make?

Would be great to include family activities which would include the parents.
Cheap, quick and plain meal ideas would be helpful. As a lot of obese children are from the lower socio scale the meals would have to be affordable. Including maily plain meals would help fussy eaters and quick recipies would stop getting a take out.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing it on the shelf.

Family activities are easy, go ride bikes together, play catch, walk to the park, get moving......
