my baby is 5 months old doesn't sleep and mostly cries, doesn't want to play, gaining weight well, fully breastfed, has gas in stomach and wind too. when I press the stomach gas comes out most of the time. sleeps for 15 mins and wakes ups, misses her poo which comes in two -three days. I have tried gripe water, farex 1 tsp, honey water. at times it works the next it fails. She has cold in the chest also it sounds at times in the morning. used vicks for it and also diamtape. really get frustrated when she cries.

What do you mean by "honey water". Are you mixing honey with water??? Babies under a year old should never have honey. They can get very sick by eating honey at infants.

Have you tried some brand of Simethicone? It works really well for my son's gas.

Have you tried rubbing in circles on the baby's belly or moving her legs back and forth like she's riding a bicycle? It can help with digestion.

Definately stop giving her honey. Honey can cause botulism poisening in babies under 1 year. This can be fatal!!!

Hi,
There is a prescription strength version of simethicone that your baby's doctor can prescribe. It was the only thing that worked for my DD - she had horrible gas too.
Most people will tell you not to do this, but it worked for me and when you are only getting sleep in short spurts, it seems worth it. At around 3 months I started putting my DD in bed with me at night. She seemed more comfortable and I could rub her belly more easily. Her belly issues seemed to clear up around 5 months and then I transitioned her back to her crib.
You also mentioned constipation - my baby's dr said it was ok to give her a tiny bit of prune juice to help regulate her and it worked wonders. Start out small, like 1/2 oz juice plus 2 ounces of water and increase up to 2 ozs of juice if your DD needs it. Good luck!

I wanted to say how much I can relate and how I feel for you. My son who is now a year old was very gassy and miserable most of his first few months. We did the bycicle legs: move legs in and out like riding a bike for a few times then press both knees into belly gently to help squeeze out some gass.
We would also hold DS across our forearm so the pressure on his belly help with the gas. Or even laying baby on their belly on a firm surface.
Has you asked your doctor if maybe your baby has a cows milk allergy. I know you said you only breast feed but if you are taking in cows milk they baby can have a reaction because you are drinking it. Maybe see if baby feels better if you cut out dairy from your diet for a couple of weeks. Couldn't hurt. But make sure you take your calcium in pill form then. My SIL's sister had to stop with the dairy until she quiet breastfeeding. It was the only thing that gave her twins any relief.
Good luck!
