Hey everybody had a question to ask.

I was tested positive for mono about three years ago.

Well about five months ago i started have swelling on both sides of my neck and its two swollen lymph nodes. They're pretty small, mobile, and as mentioned bi-lateral. They haven't gotten bigger, and i don't show symptoms of anything serious like cancer but thats what i've been afraid of.

Well last month I was able to see an ENT,and he felt my lymph nodes and asked if I had mono before in the past. He said he believes that my lymph nodes are being re-active due to another mono flare-up, and that once you get mono it never leaves your body, but just becomes dormant until it flares up again.

I'm only a 21 year old male, and no other doctors I've seen seem to think it's anything serious either. Can mono whether it's just a flare up or not make lymph nodes swollen that long?

Like I said earlier, im more fearful of something more serious, but I dont show any symptoms. However, I have heard of people being asymptomatic. Any advice is much appreciated.

FYI my grandmother died of lymphoma, she has a lump in her leg that she told her doctor about several times, and he said oh its nothing to worry about...
well finally she said ITS REALLY BOTHERING ME being there can you just remove it?
and when they did they found she had stage 4 lymphoma...and she passed away one month later-- after having a reaction to methotrexate-and suffering a stroke... :(
you can never be too careful! she knew about the lump and told her doctors for 3 years and they did NOTHING... and now shes gone. :((
good luck-
Annabelle
