I am slowing introducing milk to my daughter who will be one next week (yay!!). This may be a "dumb" question, but should it be warm like her bottles or cold from the refridgerator? Right now, I'm doing 6 oz of formula and 2 oz of cold milk mixed together. I'm slowing going to do this until it's all milk so it's not a shock to her system.
I'm just curious as to what other people do - cold or warm? Also, how much milk should she be drinking each day?
Thanks!

Laura,
Hey! Sometimes my MIL warms Ella's milk up in the morning when she gets to her house, but throughout the rest of the day she and I both give it to her cold. I figure with how blazing hot it has been, cold probably tastes better, but heck, what do I know, that is just a guess!!! :D I think either way is fine as long as she seems to like it and be ok with it. Good luck!

My son is totally on cows milk now. We warm his bottles to take the chill out of the milk. But for his bedtime bottle we warm it just like we did the formula. A nice comforting warm bottle of milk right before bed!

Hey LauraLu
Ella gets about 3 cups of milk a day (about 6oz each or so). My pedi said that she should get NO LESS than 12oz a day. We do not warm her milk, although we notice that she does tend to drink her milk towards the end of the meal (about 15 minutes after it's been out of the fridge). But she doesn't mind it cold, and it's easier that way (and I prefer my milk REALLY cold) so that's how we've done it. We never warmed her bottles either...they were always room temp. and she preferred that.
Good luck!

My daughter always had warm bottles, and when I introduced milk, I just did it cold...just the way we all drink it at home. I think you could try it this way and if she absolutely hates it you could warm it. You can just experiment both ways and soon enough you'll figure out what works for her:)
I also like the idea of mixing the formula & cow's milk together during the introduction period. I remember when I switched my daughter over she got sooooooo constipated we had to use suppositories on her:( The mixing is definitely something I will keep in mind when the time comes to switch my son over.
